Privacy Policy
How Muzlo collects, uses, and protects your personal information.
Last updated: July 18, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Muzlo ("Muzlo", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use our website, mobile applications, and related services (the "Service"). The Service is currently provided free of charge.
This Policy applies to information we process as a service provider. It does not govern third-party websites, apps, or services that may link to or integrate with Muzlo.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only what is needed to operate the Service. Some information is required to create and use an account; other information is optional or generated when you use specific features.
Because the Service is currently free, we do not collect payment card details, billing addresses, or other payment information.
- Required account information: your name and email address. A password is also required at registration; we store only a secure hash of your password, not the password itself.
- Optional profile information: a profile image (avatar), if you choose to upload one. If you do not upload an avatar, we may display initials derived from your name.
- User Content you upload, including audio files, embedded metadata, and associated cover art.
- Technical information generated when you use the Service, such as IP address, browser or app type, operating system, session identifiers, and diagnostic logs needed for security and reliability.
- Communications you send to us, including support requests and legal notices.
3. How We Use Information
We use collected information to provide and maintain the Service, authenticate users, sync libraries across devices, process uploads, display metadata, respond to requests, enforce our terms, protect against abuse, and improve reliability and security.
Where permitted by this Policy and applicable law, we may also review User Content, including audio files, when reasonably necessary to handle reports, resolve disputes, investigate abuse, or address security or legal issues.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your private audio library to train public machine-learning models.
4. Legal Bases for Processing
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process personal data to perform our contract with you, to comply with legal obligations, to pursue legitimate interests such as security and fraud prevention, and, where required, based on your consent.
6. User Content and Privacy
Your uploaded audio files and related metadata are treated as part of your account data and are accessible to you through authenticated sessions and supported client applications.
Unless you explicitly choose to make content public or share it through a product feature designed for sharing, we do not publish your private library for general browsing by other users.
We do not routinely monitor, listen to, or review all User Content. Your library is treated as private by default.
However, if a credible issue arises — such as a user report, a rights-holder complaint, suspected abuse, a security concern, or another dispute connected with the Service — we may access and review relevant User Content, including listening to audio files, but only to the extent reasonably necessary to investigate the matter, enforce our terms and policies, comply with applicable law, protect users or the Service, or resolve the reported problem.
Any such access is limited to authorized personnel, is not used for unrelated purposes such as advertising or selling your content, and is conducted in a proportionate manner related to the specific issue being addressed.
You are responsible for ensuring that User Content you upload does not include personal data of third parties without a lawful basis and appropriate notice or consent.
7. Data Retention
We retain account information and User Content for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete content or close your account, we delete or anonymize associated data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, security, or backup purposes.
Backup copies may persist for a limited time before being overwritten.
8. Security
We implement administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to or withdraw consent for certain processing.
You may update account details in your profile settings and request account deletion by contacting us. We will respond to verified requests within the timeframe required by applicable law.
11. International Transfers
If we transfer personal data across borders, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms where required by law.
12. Children
The Service is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law to consent to data processing without parental authorization. We do not knowingly collect personal data from such children.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, by additional notice.
14. Contact
Privacy-related questions or requests may be sent to the contact address published on the Service or to the email address configured for privacy inquiries.
